About

I'm Kenny Lövrin, a freelance software engineer working through my own company, Willow & Oak AB. Projects usually arrive as a whole product rather than one layer of it: an iOS app and its backend, or several web systems that have to work together. I build across them as needed.

Some of it starts from nothing, some is maintaining code someone else wrote. Much of it is the decisions around that: user experience, architecture, and shipping.

A few of my keywords: Swift, SwiftUI, Objective-C, UIKit, Ruby on Rails, Next.js.

Outside that I'm taking pictures, or working on my custom electric chopper.

Hand-built Next.js site on Contentful, plus a Ruby on Rails product configurator — integrated so products can be configured directly on the site.
Sound personalisation for headphone makers: their own iOS app and the reference app clients integrate from — both in SwiftUI, talking to hardware over Bluetooth, with a hand in the UX decisions.
Ticketing for sport events — a custom-built Next.js site.

Further back, between 2009 and 2017, I was at ustwo, working with clients like H&M, Adidas, Sony Mobile and SVT. I also conceptualised and built some of the studio's own IP — most successfully Rando, an experimental anti-social photo sharing app. It is no longer live, but TechCrunch covered its launch, PetaPixel explained the idea, AllThingsD found it kind of beautiful, ustwo counted ten million photos shared, and TechCrunch later wrote it a eulogy.
