Branches

We don’t collect anything about you. Not your name, not your email, not what you play, not how often you open the app, not what device you’re on. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server of ours for anything to be sent to.

It is easier to run an app that knows nothing about the people using it, and we would rather write this page than maintain the alternative.

What Branches does on your device

Everything. The synthesis, the patches you make, the sequences you write and the settings you change all stay on the device, in the app’s own storage. If you use Branches as an AUv3 plugin, your patch data is held by whichever host app you loaded it into, under that app’s own terms.

Branches asks for no permissions. It has no access to your location, your microphone, your camera, your photos or your contacts, and it contains no code that reaches the network.

What reaches us

Nothing.

The one link in the app, the Help row in settings, opens this website in your browser. If you follow it, that is an ordinary web request, and our host records it the way any web server records a visit.

Buying the app

Branches is sold through the App Store, so the purchase is between you and Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple gives us anonymous sales figures, which say how many copies sold in which countries, and nothing about who bought them.

Children

Branches is safe for anyone to use, because it collects nothing from anyone. We don’t knowingly collect data from children, or from adults.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to it being processed. You are welcome to ask. The answer will be that we hold none, because the app sends us none.

If you are unsatisfied with how we have handled a question, you can complain to your data protection authority. In Sweden that is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page. We would only expect to change it if Branches itself changed in a way that made the above untrue.
